CURRENT AFFAIRS DECEMBER 2012-INDIAN POLITY

  • The Union Cabinet approves Land Acquisition Bill in Parliament

  • The Union Ministry has decided to extend the ban on United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) and National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB)

  • Rajya Sabha approves Constitution Amendment Bill which sanctions quotas for Government job promotion to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes

  • Loksabha passes the Banking Amendment Bill which opens foreign investment to banking industry and allows Reserve Bank of India to issue new banking licenses

  • Indian and Japan governments signed 2 agreements on Social Security and Memorandum between the Department of Atomic Energy of India and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan on Cooperation in the Rare Earths Industry in India. The agreements were signed in Tokyo.
